Program Note: Inhere, Adhere is a meditation on accepting that which is inherent. Inherent to wind instruments is their need for breath to produce sound. Inherent to keyboard instruments is their natural resonance, which decays after their sounding mechanisms have been activated. These ideas provided the framework for the piece, allowing resonant and staggered breaths to provide adhesion for the ensemble, allowing sound to undulate freely and then, all at once, stopping.
